Development Process
The concept for Bobaseal began with the idea of merging fresh, high-quality boba ingredients with playful, collectible packaging. I developed a brand identity that captures both freshness and fun, centering around an adorable seal character that would become the brand’s mascot.
The design process included creating a custom logo, character illustrations, and a packaging system that allowed each drink flavor to be paired with its own themed seal design. The color palette was inspired by natural tea tones and fruity flavors, while maintaining a vibrant, youthful aesthetic. The goal was to create a strong visual connection between taste, personality, and presentation.

Challenges & Solutions
A key challenge was designing packaging that stood out in a saturated boba market while remaining functional and cost-effective. To solve this, I focused on a modular design system for the seal characters that allowed for seasonal or limited-edition variations without redesigning the core brand each time.
Another challenge was ensuring the packaging conveyed freshness and quality without sacrificing the playful tone. I addressed this by using clean type, subtle ingredient illustrations, and clear visual hierarchy to balance cuteness with credibility.
Results & Outcomes
The final branding and packaging system gave Bobaseal a distinct playful identity, yet premium. The seal mascot became a central part of customer engagement, encouraging repeat purchases and social sharing. The design has helped the brand gain recognition not only for its delicious drinks, but also for its collectable, Instagram-worthy aesthetic.
Bobaseal’s brand presence now appeals to both boba lovers and design-conscious consumers, blending flavor with fun in a visually cohesive way.
